ACTIVITIES IN THE FRENCH CLASS
FOR BUSINESS STUDENTS

Abstract: The scientific and technical progress of the last decades has
opened a new stage of development of the higher education in order to
provide the specialists of tomorrow. The need for language skills in a foreign
language is unquestionable today. Acquiring the oral code of the French
language by Romanian students (punctuation, accent, intonation,
pronunciation) is very important in the process of learning the French
language, especially since there are difficulties arising from the Latin
relatedness of the two languages.

1. Introduction
The opportu nity to l earn a fo reign language, created by the social, poli tical and
econom ic con ditions that have m ade Rom ania a member count ry of the European
Union, is t he basis of opening multi ple possibiliti es to study, so that high sc hool
gradua tes can choo se from the multitude of specializa tions offere d by unive rsities in
the country or in Europe and decide wheth er to exer cise their profession in their
country , or in another coun try, opting for the bes t va riant. For a succ essful
profes sional career, stude nts from faculties with a diffe rent background than th e
philol ogical one should be stimulated and supp orted in acquiring linguistic skills and
practi ce, as that woul d be the shorte st path for a goo d coopera tion betwe en
special ists from d ifferent countries in pursuit of a common goal. Nowadays, there
can ne ver be a g ood specialis t who does not m aster at l east one in ternational
langua ge a t t he level of current use or wh o i s not a ble to appropriat ely use the
special ized vocabula ry of the resp ective languag e.
In terms of teaching methods and strategies, the foreign language teacher faces a
number of difficulties when it comes to working with students who do n ot have a
